- 1981- graduated in physics at the Sofia University
- 1986- Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry at the Institute of Physical Chemistry (IPC), Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS)

- 1990/91- DAAD - fellow at the Institute of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry, University of Duesseldorf, Germany
- 1997/98- Humboldt - fellow at the Institute of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry, University of Duesseldorf, Germany
- 2001- senior researcher (i.e. habilitation) at IPC, BAS
- 2001- head of the department "Phase Formation and Crystal Growth" at IPC, BAS


Research Interests:
- conducting polymers, electrochemical polymerisation, metal electrodeposition in conducting polymers, electrochemical nucleation and growth of metals, organic and inorganic/organic composite materials for sensing applications.

1. 1. Electrochemical synthesis and characterization of nanostructured metal/conducting polymer composites for catalytic applications - bilateral project with the Free University of Brussels, Belgium (2005-2006).

2. Polymer and metal-polymer nanostructured materials for sensor applications - bilateral project with the Institut für Analytische Chemie, Chemo- und Biosensorik, Universität Regensburg, Germany (2005-2006).
